About Mr. Horton
Alex Horton has been an administrator of schools within Leona Group Schools since the year 2000. Mr. Horton became the principal of West Phoenix High School in April 2014. He received his high school diploma at Decatur High School in Decatur, GA. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a Minor in History at Presbyterian College, he then earned his secondary teacher certification at Georgia State University. After moving to Phoenix, Mr. Horton earned his Master Degree in Administration and Supervision at the University of Phoenix.
Mr. Horton taught Social Studies courses for six years in the Dekalb County School System in Atlanta, GA. He has served as the principal of five different schools within the Leona Group and served as the Vice President of Leona Group Florida from 2013 - 2014.
His Alma Mater’s Motto
Principal Horton truly believes in the motto of his alma mater, Presbyterian College: dum vivimus servimus… “while we live, we serve.”
