West Phoenix High School is a small, safe learning community that focuses on the individual student. Our highly qualified and caring faculty work diligently to support all students to help them achieve success in the classroom. Your success is our success. Many students participate in our AVID program, an international college and career readiness program, to prepare them for life after high school. Some of our students take advantage of our flexible schedule in order to graduate and earn their diploma in less than four years. Night classes are available for students who work or have family situations that require an alternative time to go to school. West Phoenix also has computer based classes (CBE) for credit recovery. Students may participate in various sports and organizations. Our athletic program includes: soccer, girls volleyball, softball, baseball and basketball (girls and boys). Clubs and activities have been created for students and meet every Friday. Classes meet Monday through Thursday, with Fridays being an alternative schedule to enhance learning and create other extra curricular opportunities for students. Tutoring and small group learning sessions, as well as independent learning sessions, take place on Fridays. Fridays are also days for field trips, school events, college presentations and clubs.
